“Steaks & Beer”, Tecopa, CA

“Who knew in the middle of the desert oasis that is Tecopa, if you know you know, there’s one of the best meals of your life.”

Steak & Beer serves just that, Steaks & Beers.

My friends and I went and ordered the whole enchilada before soaking in the mud.

We started with the soup du jour which on this day was a potato truffle and boy was it dank. This alone was worth the 90 minute drive out of town.

Second course was the warm arugula & cauliflower salad which is served with a delicious apple butter. This was some voodoo magic. When I heard apple butter, arugula and cauliflower in the same sentence, I was like ew; holy bananas was I wrong! Order it. Trust me.

Next up was the filet, which we ordered medium. Cooked to perfection. Served with a beautiful truffled balsamic reduction, mixed veggies and dreamy creamy mashed. Hands down, one of the best meals of my life.

To round of off, we got a warm date cake topped with ice cream and date syrup.

Steak & Beer, more like DANK & CHEER.

10/10 open September through May. Do yourself and favor and eat here; then soak and sweat it out in the mud.”
